ABOUT

My name is Emma Gray

I am a third-year student at the University of Georgia from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I am majoring in advertising through the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication and minoring in fashion merchandising. Through my classes, I’ve built a strong foundation in strategic communication, graphic design, and understanding audiences and consumer behavior.

This portfolio is a place to share my work with potential employers and track my growth throughout college and beyond. I’ve always loved creating, whether it’s designing visuals, writing copy, or planning social media content, and I’m excited to turn that passion into a career. I’m especially drawn to the way storytelling and branding come together to shape how people connect with a message or product. Outside of class, I look for ways to keep learning and growing creatively, from student projects to real-world experiences.

MY STORY

I discovered my interest in creativity at a young age, and by the time I was ten, I knew that if I wanted a career I truly loved, creativity would have to be at the center of it. What started as friendly competition with my brother over whose travel vlog was better during family vacations grew into a deeper passion for storytelling and visual expression.

In high school, I joined the yearbook committee, where I began developing my copywriting and design skills. I also managed Instagram accounts for my lacrosse team and service club, gaining early experience in social media and content creation.

In college, I had the opportunity to study abroad at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Being immersed in a global creative environment gave me both confidence and clarity that advertising was the career I had imagined as a kid. Most recently, I completed a fall internship with Mess Hall Truck Shop, where I worked on and executed a full social media campaign.

With each experience, my appreciation for this industry continues to grow, and I’m grateful to have found a career path that allows me to turn creativity into meaningful work.
